The co-working space at Place to B needs some help from its community to support its current members as well as its growth over 2025 and beyond. This help comes in the shape of managing key operational and community engagement tasks. Place to B would like to extend membership in exchange for fulfilling these responsibilities that enhance the community experience and operational efficiency of Place to B.

What we need help with

Place to B seeks an independent professional to provide fractional community-coordination services on a consulting basis.   Place to B is open to receiving proposals for any or all of the following community needs:

Direct Member Support

  • Member and Visitor Support: 

    • Act as the first point of contact for members and visitors, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and assisting with inquiries.

    • Maintain transparent communication with members around community needs, space maintenance, full space rentals and other disruptions to normal operations.

  • Operational Duties (Opening/Closing): 

    • Perform Opening/Closing Procedures to ensure that the space is prepared for daily use and secure after hours.  This task is shared between many members of Place To B

  • Community Event Coordination: 

    • Help plan and execute recurring events (e.g. happy hours, lunch-and-learns), and other member engagement activities. 

    • Foster member engagement and participation in community activities.

  • Inventory Management:

    • Monitor office supplies and facilitate reorders as needed.

  • Building Liaison (Occasional): 

    • Coordinate with building security and management in emergencies or disruptions.

Place to B Admin Support

  • Email Management: 

    • Monitor and respond to emails in Place to B promptly.

    • Direct emails to appropriate resources as needed.

  • Calendar and Space Management: 

    • Assist with scheduling and room bookings to ensure smooth operations. 

  • Administrative Member Services: 

    • Support onboarding by processing applications, issuing keys/fobs, and maintaining accurate records. 

  • Grant Supports 

    • Support Grant recordkeeping and coordination with our Grant Writer for ongoing series of special projects and funding opportunities through Place To B Community Fund, our fiscally sponsored project with Mission Edge.

And you’re making sure this space—this place to be—can continue to welcome, uplift, and amplify the voices that make their home here.

It’s important that we find people who have:

  • Alignment with Place to B’s mission and community values. 

  • Effective communication and organizational skills. 

  • The ability to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities effectively. 

  • On-site availability on a consistent schedule that is set by the consultant. 

  • Someone or people that do this type of work as a consultant(s)

  • Wants to be a member of the Place to B coworking space and can utilize the membership

Trade Terms - FUTURE FUNDING

This is a trade-based arrangement, where compensation is provided via a trade of the following for the start of the consulting contract, but we intend to fund and pay for this work in the future, contingent on funding:

  • A shared Community Support workstation for community activities.

  • Place to B “Be Flexible” or “Be Free” Membership(s)   Details at https://www.placetob.co/options

The consultant remains free to accept other work and is not an employee of Place to B.

It is possible that more than one consultant may be needed to cover the needs, in which case both consultants would be required to coordinate their tasks with the other and the community.
